We headed into Bariloche on a colectivo (6 pesos pp) and had a look around the town. It is about the size of Chesterfield, with lots of shops and cafes. It looks like Switzerland, the food is germanic, people talk a mix of Spanish and Italian but the buildings are new, so definitely not European.
The civic buildings were stone built. On the square outside, men were touting for photograph trade with St Bernard dogs wearing barrels.

We ate lunch in a vegetarian restaurant on 20 de Febrero. We had the menu del dia which was a mixture of five dishes: fried courgette, spanish omelette, spinach lasagna, spaghetti with salsa and maize (choclo) in a cabbage leaf. Better than the place we ate at in Valparaiso!!
We had a walk on Lago Nahuel Huapi where there was an ice rink and an empty lido.

Headed back to our apartment for a quiet beer and a blog. The signal is very weak and we have to sit by the window to get on the internet.
Tomorrow the adventure begins....
